HoooOoooOoooooOOop!!! Hoop was a beautiful, sweet and joyful experience that I hope many others get to witness. There is something so pure and (dare I say) human about RM's alien journey, that tapped into a longing for belonging that we all share. They bring a cheeky joy to the stage and also a deep vulnerability about the experience of human loneliness and overwhelm of trying to solve all the worlds problems. ... full review

Let go and surrender to the hoop. RM will expand your mind and invite you to see the world differently through another dimension – one filled with holes, circles, hoops, and hope! Journey with RM and you will be rewarded with tender vignettes of the past and a space for reflection. Deeply felt with a sense of wonder and an ending piece that is delightful, incredibly satisfying, and a visual splendor!... full review

It’s hard to be alive in such a brutal world as ours. The only way to fix it is to change it ourselves through staying connected with our own hearts and building relationships with each other. So here we are, in a room, experiencing that. ... full review

As a fellow alien (or someone who feels like one most of the time), this show felt like a warm hug. Did you know hugs are also hoops?! RM is a gifted entertainer, sprinkling 45 minutes of silliness and whimsy with nuggets of soul-level recognition that are so very rare here on Earth. ... full review

On the surface this show is a warm bath in playful interactivity, I’d imagine that it would be a delightful experience for kids if anyone wants to bring their family to a fringe show. On a deeper level, Hoop explores a real bid for connection that we all experience as imperfect adults, going to the theatre to find some bit of healing for our own inner children who at one point struggled to be understood. RM holds a reflective space for both difficult and joyful emotions with a deep sense of compassion that allows them to respond with full heart to whatever interaction each unique audience may offer. ... full review

A shared meditation on the difficulties we all experience in communicating with other living beings -- hoop alien, human, or otherwise. RM invites us to ponder hoops, holes, portals of all kinds as we build the show together. Anything can happen in this fully improvised show -- amidst this exciting uncertainty, serendipitous moments of whimsy and joy (like impromptu accordion accompaniment and folk singing) ensue. What a delight to spend an hour with a hoop alien experiencing an existential crisis and looking to connect. Highly recommend.... full review

Armed with a hula hoop and an intense gaze, RM takes the room for a ride. Through a strong commitment to the character of the hoop alien, a willingness to follow in-the-moment discoveries in the room, and tasteful tonal shifts, RM kept me captivated throughout this piece. The ending is satisfying and changed my perspective on hoop aliens, hoops, and humanity.... full review
