This felt like a sketch show. That's fine on its own but I think the shallow writing of some of the sketches took the air out of what could have been more profound moments. Had the overall tone been a little more polished I think the right balance could have been struck and the audience could have experienced the full breadth of the writing. Some of the transitions were sloppy too. If the writers knew that this particular evening of theatre was what they were all working toward, then I would think they should want to find more effective and clever ways of tying everything together. The actors were committed but seemed miscast in places.... full review

I really liked some of the issues the play brought up such as: the girl who got drunk, and didn't remember having sex. To me that's rape, and I believe that's what she was alluding to...reminds me of what just happened in Ohio with the college football players I was really touched and thought the acting was wonderful from the actor talking about how his father always told him you need to work hard to get to the big show. He emoted so real, and it was touching to see that all his father really thought of as a "big show," was to be responsible and to love. The genie in the lamp was funny too as was the last 2 minutes on earth sketch. Seeing the DARE police officer with the mustache going from cheek to cheek was very clever and funny.... full review

This show is fantastic!! The majority of the scenes ar very well thought out and funny, and some of them are very heartfelt and soul shaking. In all honesty I dig the clever name but the show should have been called "25 scenes per hour" because it's not really a whole play or story... it's more of 25 scenes from 25 different plays and some are simply some interesting outlooks on life and the universe, but overall I would recommend seing this and bravo to the entire cast n crew. ... full review

Great little show from the Theatre Unleashed team -- or should I say a series of sketches about 2 and a half minutes long each -- the good variety of comedy and drama pieces and constant shift kept my attention the whole time. Of course, this has its pros and cons, if you don't like a particular sketch take heart because it will be over in two minutes, if you do, it will also be over in two minutes, which for the ones I did like it left me wanting to see more of that particular story and characters. Overall, most of the writing was good. The stories presented some good ideas and explored some interesting themes and situations that could be the basis for a full story, which I expect was part of the point of this show -- to experiment and ... full review

Theatre Unleashed delivers again with a brand new show. This year's version featured a few more monologues, and they allowed the actors to shine, especially Jenn Crafts' singing in The Prom skit. I hope this show becomes a Fringe tradition.... full review

Part of the joy of the Fringe is to take risks and invest in stories short term with the hopes they stick with you long term. 25PPH is a perfect microcosm of the Fringe. Presented at a breakneck pace (without sacrificing breathing room where needed), the audience just has to hang tight and enjoy the ride. A couple of serious stories live in the midst of the ridiculous, and TU offers much to ponder within some of the sillier pieces (specifically "The Tweet Poet" by Gregory Crafts, "The Multiverse" and "In the Box" by Wendy Gough Soroka). "Risk" by Ian Federgreen was a great distillation of one moment in time that means the world to one person while others don't take it very seriously. In a way, that's when these micro plays excel at ... full review

I wasn’t expecting all 25 of these sketches to be funny (to me). Comedy is a tough thing; people have different notions of humor. Even the best of the classic Saturday Night Live shows only had about 50% funny content in any given evening. But the hit-to-miss ratio in the 2013 version of 25 plays per hour is unsafe at any speed. I’m hoping next year’s model will be better.
