There are many talented, creative, and beautiful people in the arts. That’s for sure. But finding that thread of meaning and expression and turning something tragic in your life into a thing that is not only cathartic, but smart, funny, thoughtful, energizing… That is an entirely different level or artistic integrity. Callie has done this in the writing and performance of Final Girl. This one-woman musical is hilarious and full of courage and soul all at the same time. Its theme and music will linger with you long after the performance. And its deeper message will stay with you....

Callie Ott is a powerhouse performer who carries this showtune-packed show with charisma, comedic chops and a ton of heart. Her story is not only extremely raw, but also inspiring to women who know what it's like to be trapped in a dangerous cycle of abuse with a toxic man. But don't let the subject matter scare you. This show is hilarious and keeps you laughing from start to end. And the music by Tony Gonzalez makes you dance in your seat!...

After Dear Jeff made waves at HFF19, I was excited to see Callie's latest work! As an unofficial sequel sharing another true story of abusive relationship, Final Girl does not disappoint — a sincere bravo to her for finding the humor in a scary real life situation, and finding the courage to share this story on stage. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll come out stronger on the other side. One of my favorites this year....
