This solo-ish show is a beautiful, vulnerable piece of storytelling about Christopher and his complicated, ever-evolving relationship with his father (who is also on stage throughout the show.) This a special story to be able to sit down and witness. The fact that Christopher took the bold choice to bring his father onto the stage with him made this unique. I don't know much about Ecuadorian culture, but I do know some about humanity, particularly father-son relationships. That's what resonated with me. I loved this show. Many of the Fringe performers, as good as they are, feel they have to shout to get their point across. Christophers delivery was so natural and heartfelt. It felt so intimate. He was brave to tell this all too common story and have his father there, and you could feel the pain in the retelling. This show is what the Fringe is all about.... full review

This rare gem of a show is a brilliant, masterclass in storytelling. It's funny, engaging and expertly crafted. And deeply personal on a level that's incredibly moving. Christopher willingly bares his soul as he guides us through the ups and downs of his complicated -- and at points, delightfully comical -- relationship with his father. I love how unflinchingly raw he is throughout, detailing his father's misdeeds, while also holding a mirror up to his own. It's a touching reminder that families, just like people, are never perfect -- but there's always a pathway forgiveness.... full review

I was really interested in watching it as a fellow latchkey kid. It was cathartic to watch a guy and his dad share laughs they’ve had throughout the years within 75 minutes. I was lucky enough to see this show on Father’s Day, considering the apt subject matter. Christopher and Abel’s relationship twists and turns over the course of Christopher’s life. It’s fascinating learning about your own father through other’s stories. I imagine that there’s a flurry of emotions that comes with hearing things when you’re not around. I believe the show did a great job with showing that perspective. The fish magnet scene at the end really tugs at the heartstrings. ... full review
