Wow. How does one explain just how profoundly special this show is? Christopher stands onstage as his father (yes, his actual father) sits there as Christopher tells stories of their complicated relationship. The show is funny, moving, and shook me to my core. I'm not sure I'll see a better show this year. Honestly.... full review

I will be coming back to watch the show again! Habla y Te Salvas has the raw reality of the lived experience of a father and son weaved throughout every aspect of the show. From welcoming late comers on "Ecuadorian time" no matter when they come in, to the stage being set up in the same chaos they lived in together, to having his father on stage sharing candid reactions in real time, Christopher brings his life to the audience with honesty, vulnerability, and entertainment in an incredibly unique way. I am a no sabo kid with an immigrant father who passed in 2020. We had a tumultuous relationship, and I don't have any more time to create something different. Christopher's dad reminds me of mine in so many little ways, and seeing that happen... full review

You really don’t want to miss this show! You’ll see a lot more from Christopher, but you’ll never get this particular experience again. Chris and Dad have made something beautiful and unique that takes the craft of funny, detailed storytelling and adds dimension after dimension— languages, family relationship, presence, and the mystery of who people are to each other really. ... full review

I've never seen a show where a son shares the stage with his biological father and much of the dynamic is unscripted, raw and authentic! It was quickly apparent that father and son have inhabited two different worlds, not just in personality, temperament and language but also literally, as they were once estranged. They have now reunited to mine through their messy relationship right in front of us, in a loosely scripted format in real time. I applaud Christopher for his uniquely intimate approach to exploring some challenging family issues. A gutsy performance!... full review

Christopher is sharing with his audience (in a very open and easy presentation style) his attempts to connect with his father who was absent during his childhood but who is sitting there on stage with Christopher during the show. His father is both a prop and a player in this ‘solo’ show. ... full review
