Dan Ruth

Dan Ruth is an actor, writer, director and storyteller who has relocated to the Los Angeles area after 28 amazing years in New York City.

Ruth has launched his website, “Los Angeles Hidden Gems” to help support theatre and cabaret artists. So little words are given to artists today, Dan wants to use his site as a vehicle to lift up artists and to direct the Los Angeles community to lesser-known acts and tomorrows stars. To purchase an advertisement or to have your show reviewed in “Los Angeles Hidden Gems,” please submit press releases to [email protected]. Press coverage is subject to availability. Also feel free to contact him via this site.

Creator of “A Life Behind Bars,” winner of the Lounge Theatre 2018 HFF “Producers Encore Award,” the 2018 NYC Bistro Award for “Outstanding Solo Play,” the 2018 NYC MAC Award for “Best Spoken Word,” and the 2018 “Martha Hill Newell Playwright Fund” Grant. “A Life Behind Bars” was also honored as a 2016 United Solo Festival for “Best Autobiographical Show.” Dan is a contributing writer for W42ST Magazine and the Clyde Fitch Report. Dan made his Los Angeles debut in 2018 as part of the Whitefire Theatre’s Solofest.
