This is a strong physical theatre piece that is as much an extended scene about the nature of relationships between men and women as it is a movement piece. Really enjoyed it!... full review

Lysistrata

This is a very entertaining modern adaptation of Lysistrata. The Savage Players adaptation updates the story to the government shutdown and trades war for politics. I particularly enjoyed Tom Keefe's performance as a frustrated, puritanical congressman. Anne Butler's Lysistrata is logical, straightforward and intelligent. Josephine Keefe's direction brings a light and fun hand to the show. Good show!... full review

At the end of civilization, when everything is running down, people will do anything they can to find a connection with another person, plant or animal. Carly Weckstein does a great job c... full review

Thia Schuessler is perfectly cast as the ever forgiving ex love in this Christian Bible Study come adulthood romance. The music is well put together and Ben Stanton's repartee with Al Rahn is charming and funny... full review

Better Than Shakespeare presents: Much Ado About Something

There is a sweet madness that this show gives off and a joy that comes from ripping apart Shakespeare and making it a hoot. Exuberent performances abound in this retelling of Much Ado plus aliens. From fun devices to create the "deformed ones," to irreverent soliloquies (notably Arthur Keng), and neon glowsticks to create the mood, this Shakespeare is on the trail of something good. There is also an outstanding performance from Evan Smith, who holds all the disparate elements together. If I h... full review
