My overall impression

This show works in large part because of the outstanding performance of Al Rahn as Malachi. Through a series of sermons, confessions, and his ultimate redemption the multiple, sometimes bewilderingly disparate, facets of Malachi’s character come to light in hilarious and touching songs. Thia Schuessler is perfectly cast as the ever forgiving ex love in this Christian Bible Study come adulthood romance. The music is well put together and Ben Stanton’s repartee with Al Rahn is charming and funny. The writing, while entertaining, makes massive leaps in character and genre, and sometimes threatens to unravel the magic.
