Letter From David

Part love letter, part memoir, Albie Selznick takes us on a journey from when his inner child fell in love with performing to present day. Without a doubt, one of the best solo performances, I’ve seen. Selznick masterfully displays his range and leaves the audience the gift of his artistic journey, his aesthetic and drive. I wouldn’t be surprised if this show is already sold out. This is simply masterful storytelling.... full review

Mandy Keen: MAGGIE

This will be one of the shows that people will talk about having seen at this years festival. This solo clown show stands alone with concept, creativity and execution. Simply one of the best shows I’ve seen at the fringe. Unfortunately there’s no more performances, I’m lucky I caught the last one. ... full review

Complete Dopamine Hit! 90s nostalgia From What’s Up to I’m the Only One, You Oughta Know to Hold On to All My Life….I mean, come on, right there…right there is enough to bring the house down and that’s what this ensemble did! Every last one of them. Baz Luhrmannesque at times. I felt joy while experiencing this and and after - you will too! I would attend multiple nights if this show had a run.... full review

Mark Vigeant: OUT THERE

I don’t know what to say about this piece that hasn’t already been said. It’s a remarkable piece of theater. The use of live feed throughout, the entire production is really special, creative and a key element as if it’s another character. I’m super curious to see what this play would be like in other spaces as well. You can tell it’s a different beast from audience to audience, which makes you want to see the show over and over again. Good luck in Scotland, Mark!... full review

The Vertical

If you have ever worked on a vertical then this show if for you. I was hooked the themes of race, cross cultural influence, representation and morality in this play, not jus the comedic moments. Dee succeeds in putting forth his intention and purpose as a creator with nuance and humor. The execution and message is there. The acting is not forced, it's simple and almost effortless which allows the audience to further fall into the story. The audience I was in really enjoyed themselves, especially ... full review

Angst

One of my favorite shows at the fringe. I want to see this play further developed into an hour or longer. I was thinking about the show's themes long after the curtain call. We can be our own worst enemy and with that observation, how do we remain self compassionate - especially when it comes to being vulnerable when creating (writing in this case). I really wanted another 30 minutes to this show. It is a perfect example of a fringe show that starts as an idea, gets unpacked and then when exposed... full review

This is one of my favorite shows of the festival that I've seen so far. A buddy of mine was telling me about this play at The Plunge. I bought a ticket right then. I would see this piece again.... full review

A fun night of theater. The acting was fantastic with stand outs Rebecca O'Brien and Michael Dempsey. Both ensembles were outstanding but these 2 actors stood out to me.... full review

MOTHER

Christine Dickinson's Mother is a solo piece of theater that addresses grief, the rat race of our society and her relationship with her mother. I admire her creative approach to using social media profiles and reels to demonstrate the pressures and expectation of society. Go see Mother if you want to see a powerful female solo show.... full review
