Too Old, Too Asian, Too Short

Pamela is adorable and her energy and kindness radiates from her - and it is infectious. She tackles darker subjects in a way that doesn't overburden her audience and always has a hint of triumph in it. I left feeling uplifted, inspired and just plain happy to know that people like her follow their dreams no matter the odds.... full review

Mormon Playgirl

I enjoyed getting to see the journey of CC Sheffield through the eyes of so many characters, some of which I had a lot of familiarity with. The agent character spoke words I heard far too many times and seeing Harvey Weinstein through her lens gave me a fresh perspective on the stories behind some of the latest headlines. ... full review

Shiva for Anne Frank

Bold and brave, this is a fresh look at an iconic girl that we only think we know and the woman who has put herself out on a limb to bring us that story. Rachel explores more than a few taboo topics by throwing herself with abandon into comedy, but also owning the weight of atrocities that have both been passed down through generations and also ones that represent history repeating itself.... full review

Orangutan

This show was moving and absurd, hilarious and terrifying - all in the way that only really good, challenging art can be. It was a bold look at the state of politics in a way that felt fresh, yet primal. I was grateful for the reminder of where the instincts to protect our own comes from and how it plays out in the world today.... full review

A Bit Much

Intelligently written, the play winds it’s way through awkward dates and mixed signals to land some very real punches of truth and self discovery. She uncovers many layers of being “too much” and bravely turns her judgment to herself in a moment I won’t soon forget, as she realizes that she must challenge herself to accept others in the way she wants to be accepted. Beautiful. ... full review

Walking on Eggshells in Stilettos

This show really hits home near the end, drawing it out from the darkness her personal struggles and into the light of the reality of just how common and insidious mental illness is. A brave and honest look at not only her family, but herself, it was really special to see Anne-Marie emerge victorious. The show felt extremely personal and intimate. ... full review

Saving Cain

This show dealt with overlapping issues of addiction and religion in a fresh way, taking some surprising turns. I particularly appreciated moments where characters made decisions we didn’t expect and that the arc of these decisions bent toward justice. ... full review

mandy picks a husband

This show is smart and quick and led us down a path that I found to be incredibly brave - and also surprising. It so brilliantly moves from broad, big, safer concepts into more intimate, raw and personal memories meticulously, peeling back time and layers of understanding- always digging deeper and revealing more as she went. The structure was impeccable and it was so brilliantly executed, with specificity of movement and polish. And that polish does not get in the way of her vulnerability and au... full review

Batter Up! My Brain on Baseball

There’s nothing “stupid” about what Brett professes to be his “stupid human trick.” It’s insanely impressive to watch his mind work and his enthusiasm for baseball was infectious. ... full review

Fringe Cabaret 2019

I appreciate that the fringe offers this event. Bella Luna is AWESOME and her replacement MC was fantastic. It’s lovely to get a sample of the shows, some of which blew me away, but also really important to me to feel connected to a greater “fringe community.”... full review
