One week later, I cannot stop thinking about how sharp and funny the writing was for this piece. If you saw this earlier in the run, I know I'd heard it ran long. What I saw for this final performance was something hilarious, lean, and paced extraordinarily well. An absolute pleasure to watch.... full review

He Put His Hands On Me

Kathy Westfield’s one-woman show, He Put His Hands on Me, is one of the most powerful performances I have ever experienced. This was my second time seeing Kathy bring this story to the stage, and this most recent performance was extraordinary. It was real, honest, vulnerable, deeply moving, and unexpectedly filled with humor. Kathy has a rare gift: she can take pain, survival, faith, grace, and resilience, and turn it into a message that humbles, heals, and uplifts. Her story is not just a ... full review

HFF26 Community Days: Plummer Park Meet-Up

anonymous · July 03, 2026 uncertified reviewer
HFF26 Community Days: Plummer Park Meet-Up was a calm, welcoming way to connect with other Fringe people without the pressure of a formal networking event. The relaxed park setting made conversations feel natural, and the family-friendly, sober format gave the whole gathering a grounded community feel. As someone who works on casual web games at https://randoplay.com, I also appreciated how much this reminded me that playful, low-friction experiences can bring people together.... full review

DADDY ISSUES

With Spencer Waldner’s “Daddy Issues” a star is not just born, he is fully realized. Waldner’s analysis of analysis balances being both introspective and outward looking, awkward but familiar, deeply moving and genuinely hilarious. As a performer, Waldner is fully committed to being fully committed, and his natural magnetism keeps you hooked from the start. By holding a mirror to himself, he subsequently has the audience also look within themselves , and we all benefit from a bit of therapy. ... full review

Body as an Archive

Some performances entertain. Others stay with you long after the lights come up. Body as an Archive, Junru Wang's one woman show at the Hollywood Fringe Festival, belongs firmly in the second category. This is a deeply personal and remarkably courageous work. Wang invites the audience into the defining moments of her life, tracing her journey from a young girl in China with dreams of performing to years of rigorous military circus training, where technical perfection was expected and indivi... full review

I had a spectacular run of bad luck last night and felt like walking away from the digital green felt entirely.
