I really enjoyed this show! I was funny, sincere, and interesting. (Which, honestly, I was not expecting when I heard "One-Man-Musical") I didn't particularly expect either the autobiography or the history to keep me riveted, but the horrible self-consciousness of I Am A Woman and the toe-tapping triumph of the final number were both a delight.... full review

One of my biggest problems with a lot of trans media (even those made by trans folks sometimes!) as a trans person is that there isn't a lot of room for laughter and for joy. This is a whole house made of laughter and joy, and kindness to the person you were who had no idea this was coming, and celebration of an indefatigable community -- you come away not just feeling like you went to go see historical trans folks, but like they too somehow saw you, and loved you the way you love them, as siblings and friends and partners. It makes you feel less alone. And also it is so, SO funny. I too wish to be able to banish JK Rowling to 1610 by my trans time-traveling powers. ... full review

Very Brave and Necessary Work. Edutainment. I love the ORIGINAL songs. I love the Spoof ( Word) on JK ROWLING. Love your Playfulness Overall. The Time Machine. Absolutely love the Briefcase with GENDER on it. I noticed it prior to seeing the WORD and wanted it. PROP. This is a Timely peice. I love that you are doing it. You are touring it. Why? Because you appear as a kind, Fun, Loving, Harmless Human Being. And we need those Examples to help STOMP out the fear of Trans persons. I love the SCOTLAND song. The Marriage story. Your show reminds me a tiny bit of the Show with John Leguizamo ( spell) On the LATIN history. It’s really Darling yet Profound in its own right. Thank You for streaming it. The computer volume wasn’t good. I used my phon... full review

Clever and thoughtful, musical and goofy, heartfelt and bold, this one-man-show rocked my world. Laser is incredibly talented, and his goofy, nerdy, stage persona is instantly lovable. From historical accounts of trans men to musical anecdotes to a villainous crudely-animated JK Rowling, every part of this show was as interesting as it was entertaining. Laser never claims to speak for all trans men-- instead he shares his personal experience and speaks to his place within the ancient and beautiful history of trans people. A must see!... full review

From the moment the show began, I was smiling. Laser has brought to the Fringe one of the most unique solo show's we've seen. The seamless blend of music numbers, to life moment re-enactments, to interactions with JKR, to projections on the overhead screen are incredible. Laser's writing is brilliant in this piece that takes us on an educational, sentimental, and extremely vulnerable story. He makes us laugh and cry, and even get a little angry at times at the people that he's dealt with in his life. His show is accessible to everyone and relateable to everyone. It's truly a lovely work of art. The work he has done with this piece, through the guidance of his director is just phenomenal. And it is a very strong contender for Top of t... full review

I thought it was a really fascinating trip through both real history and Laser's own history. We need more stories of trans people and more attention for trans men especially and this accomplished that several times over.... full review
