Alex Kern's alcoholic (my interpretation) and lonely party host 'Cynthia' brings us all in along an evening of laughter, discomfort and joy. I absolutely loved this weird ass piece of theatre. I laughed and laughed and then sort of wanted to cry and then I laughed again instead. It was brave, exciting, completely unique and just fabulous. I loved this show so much. An excellent performance that blends clown and improvisation and character and heart and a little look at ideas held about what makes a "good" hostess. This show has so much good going on. Clowning that welcomes you and makes you uncomfortable. Alex’s character is lovable immediately with a pathos that i worried she wasn’t aware of. Like a family member you worry about. In my show, audience members were protective of her. The show is very fun! And dark. John Waters comes to mind. ... full review
