Sam has managed to elevate what could be a darkly comedic stand-up set about a father taking his elementary school-aged son to AA meetings into a beautifully fleshed out hour long story of father and son. It’s meaningful but not heavy. Authentic but not maudlin. Be clear, the show is loaded with laughs, including an inner child who sounds like Jerry Seinfeld and a hysterically physical scene on a Sea-Doo. But in between - and even behind the laughs - is a very touching story about a son coming to grips with who his father wasn’t and who he was, “an unconventional father.” ... full review

Considering the title, this is a completely delightful show. It's heartfelt and laugh-out-loud funny. I loved it. Sam is naturally hilarious, charming, and winning. I am so glad I saw this show. I really enjoyed it and found it entertaining and engaging. Sam took me on a personal journey of his relationship with his father. It was relatable, funny, well acted and well written. It was sentimental but with so many laugh out loud moments I forgot I was being drawn into a story about the relationship between a father and son. Well worth your time - I promise you will be glad you saw "MY DEAD DAD."... full review
