What I liked

Oh, Lorraine is Grosse Point Blank meets Date Night meets that new rom com GHOSTED which I haven’t seen yet but I can only assume. It’s fun, it’s sweet and leaves you definitely wanting more. You’re really rooting for these two people the moment Fluet’s character recalls Carrie’s Post-It procedure. The look on her face of impressed adoration just makes the audience melt right along with her. From that point on it’s just praying that they get through this date alive. There’s a bitter sweet pay off and great laughs along the way. The direction stands out as so much is packed into a short period of time, but I never felt rushed in a bad way. There were such tender and sweet moments created by Victor Isaac and the actors that just left smiles on everyone’s faces – AND HOPE IN OUR HEARTS. Amanda Davis has sharp comedic timing and instincts. Ryan Gowland as her partner was hilarious. I think my biggest laughs were with him and with Fluet’s line about Lorraine’s laugh being a lot at that hour. Jessie Bias made some smart, subtle choices that made me believe she really did adore Lorraine and felt naturally protective over her. It was just a great group of people that we all wanted to hang out with. The writing is very strong. Solid jokes, especially right off the bat and then sprinkled throughout an enjoyable ride.

What I didn't like

Any time Fluet and Carrie aren’t on stage. Every single person in this cast is talented, there was just something missing without those two included. My biggest most irrational fear is Animated food, so having to think about Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs several times throughout the play was a challenge. Also there was some kind of almost disparaging remark about Tom Hanks that I can’t abide by. lol – FANTASTIC SHOW!!!!!!

My overall impression

Fun, Funny, wacky, charming. Did I mention Charming?
