Roni is a skilled and excellent performer. Her stage presence is powerful, and she is instantly lovable. I was instantly brought back to the awkward pre-teen slow dance yearning of attending a Bat Mitzvah (I laughed at the exquisitely accurate needle-drop of The Black Eyed Peas’ “I’ve Got a Feeling”) and the soul-wrenching whirlwind of falling in love as a camp counselor.

My overall impression
A high-energy, fun, and fabulous time! Roni has a contagious energy, and her stamina for performing while exercising and talking a mile-a-minute is honestly superhuman. This show felt very polished and well-directed, and the world Roni creates is distinct and full of comedic possibility. As a lesbian, I was surprised by just how much I related to the show’s “boy-crazy” themes; through stories of her own experiences, Roni has crafted a show that speaks to the universally human desire to be loved and acknowledged. This show is fun, funny, and an all-around great time.
