The visual at the end of the wine pouring all over them and the subsequent Lady Macbeth moment is pure genius and lingered in my mind all night. The OCD-like bits were an interesting insight that I wasn’t expecting. I loved Calliope’s direction and involvement in the show, the audience interaction, poor Devin and his heely shoes and fake sword, the pitiful tree, and the SCRIPT. Such a strong show that I know I’ll be thinking about it for a while. If it was the end of the world, I’d be fine with this being my final few minutes.
What I didn't like
It was hot in the theater so I was sweating haha
My overall impression
A Fringe stunner! One of the best solo shows I’ve ever seen. Jill’s acting, comedic timing, and exasperated dealing-with-little-kids voice hooked me the entire time. I didn’t want the world’s ending timer to go off so i could keep watching this evocative piece!! The jump back and forth between trying to keep up a facade and put on a show while dealing with the realities of fear and death was so prominent. Jill perfectly embodies how it feels to do such a seemingly trivial thing like theater in the face of a doomed world…yet convinces us all of its importance at the same time.
