I loved everything. The story is funny and compelling. No trace of self indulgence, and I respect that. Her singing is beyond perfect. The lyrics are incredible. I’m not a big fan of musicals, but in this case I had to change idea.
Don’t be silly. Go to see it.
What I didn't like
Nothing but the grammar in my review!
My overall impression
Shelley Cooper is one of the best performers I’ve seen in my career as an actor. She’s grounded, deep and incredibly talented. But when she sings, oh man, when she sings, her eyes become a screen through which you can observe and enjoy her beautiful and sophisticated soul. Does it make sense? In my head it does.. I promise, I wanna fall in love is a gem.
Next step is an album, maybe a broadway musical, maybe both!
I’m pretty sure that what Shelley said as Maria Callas in “La Divina” : " When I sing I feel loved", it’s exactly what she feels in her reality. My thought is : " How can you not loving her?".
