What I liked
Never a dull moment, we moved from scene to scene of Joyful’s adult life. Told with ease, she drew the laughter from us while also convincing us to go deep into uncharted territory of the abortion clinic, the biological drives for sex and reproduction, the challenges of choosing a nontraditional path, and the joy that is possible. A very hopeful telling.

My overall impression
Joyful Raven kept us laughing even as we traversed trials of love and loss, hard choices of freedom and independence, and the redefining of identity. This is wise comedy infused with compassion, including for her self. Entertaining and deeply insightful, this is a story that needs to be heard of a woman choosing and choosing again and again how she will live her life.
