Not enough performance art places two senior actors as the leads, so to watch these two experienced actors on their playground was nothing short of a treat. They so clearly trusted each other which made all the heightened moments even more impactful, because you know they had each other’s back. Also, what a clever setting to see someone have a bit of an existential crisis when their beliefs are questioned (and therefore, my beliefs).
What I didn't like
Personally, I’m a fan of less tech. I’d like to see what the actors do with their monologues without the lighting cues to separate them.
My overall impression
A charming, thought-provoking, and funny short play! Carol’s sharp writing allows these two wonderful characters play with each other, challenge each other, and find comfort and hope with each other in the least likely, least romantic place—a jury duty holding room. Highly recommend!
