So much fun! It’s crisp & fast-paced like a play version of a sitcom. The actors’ commitment and enthusiasm are wonderful and stay heightened the whole play. ... full review

Had the pleasure of seeing NOT THAT ILLEGAL at the Broadwater 2nd Stage with a friend, and we both realized that a new star had immerged onto the Los Angeles Stage Community in the work of author Yusuf Yildiz. We were amazed how funny and fast paced the script was. Mr. Yildiz not only wrote it, but produced and acted in this very funny farce. It was cleverly directed by Ashley Karp. A funny surprise ending kept us going till the end. Also always good to see a couple of strong female roles that were written to perfection. Don’t miss this very funny comedy!... full review

A serious topic told with comedic flare; I thoroughly enjoyed this show. The serious moments were well-balanced with light-hearted and funny moments. There's room for contemplation and a reminder that the immigrant situation isn't so black and white. One knows a show's succeeded when one can walk away having been both entertained and made to think.... full review

Such an important story to tell of the immigrant struggle of being uprooted from a place they have built a life in, also dealing with friendship and the many meanings of love. The writing of this show was incredible as was the stage picture and direction. Each actor fully embodied their role and gave life to these multidimensional characters.... full review
