NOT THAT ILLEGAL is a great show. It's entertaining and has a strong social message. Immigration is always a serious topic that impacts many lives and families. The way how the writer Yusuf Yildiz depicts the story around this topic in a comic way is amazing. The connection between the characters is just breathtaking. It highlights friendship, love, and the issues with the current immigration system. Loved the way how each of these characters played their role. The way how Evan and Yusuf transform themselves from screen to screen is amazing. What great acting guys. Great work Yusuf Yildiz. This was a great show - really fun. The headaches around immigration processes really resonate with me, as it affects many of my co-workers and friends. I also enjoyed the interactions between the characters - the cast did an excellent job of conveying their affection for one another, and their relationship as a kind of extended family. Overall, it was funny and enjoyable and I highly recommend it.... full review

Yusuf has written a charming, funny comedy that is brought to light be fun, engaging ensemble. From the experiences of some of best friends, I know that the immigration process can be horribly frustrating, dehumanizing, and sometimes heartbreaking. Not That Illegal is not only topical and socially inoculating - in this increasingly theocratic, xenophobic fascist country - but it is side-splitting and has lots of heart. Yusuf Yildiz’s somewhat autobiographic script has gotten quite tight and it shows! This cast is extremely talented with comic timing for days. It is incredibly difficult these days to come upon a piece of theatre that not only sets out to accomplish it dramaturgical intent, but is also incredibly engaging and entertaining.
