Battlesong brings the familiarity of a Greek Tragedy and a Shakespearean History play while simultaneously feeling absolutely modern. Despite being 90 minutes, the show flies by! The tragedy is mixed with witty humor, creative dance choreography, and Jen Albert's signature award-winning fight choreography. Thoroughly entertaining and highly recommended!...

Top-notch storytelling filled with great action, visuals, and performances. Christopher Johnson has crafted a wonderful script and directs a tight, fast-paced show. Jen Albert leads a committed group of actors as they tackle an ancient story filled with modern relevance with a great combination of sincerity and humor. An excellent example of how you can work within the constraints of Fringe and still put on a fully-realized, high concept production....

Nothing like watching a Woman who has been massively wronged kill and behead all of her enemies! I had such a great time at this show. You know how 90 minute shows can feel suuuuuper long at Fringe? NOT THIS ONE. Loved it from top to bottom....

The show feels like a vivid campfire story. It's an epic topic told in an intimate setting, and I was completely absorbed from the outset. The cast were all great, they managed to keep a fun, contemporary feeling to the story, while still conveying the horrors of war and occupation. Boudica and her two daughters keep the play grounded in genuine emotion, conveying believable family dynamics behind the mythology. They made a great use of props, including puppets ranging from the little sacrificial bunny to the huge goddess of war. There are beheadings and bloody sword fights. A lot of fun and surprisingly moving....
