Battlesong brings the familiarity of a Greek Tragedy and a Shakespearean History play while simultaneously feeling absolutely modern. Despite being 90 minutes, the show flies by! The tragedy is mixed with witty humor, creative dance choreography, and Jen Albert's signature award-winning fight choreography. Thoroughly entertaining and highly recommended!... full review

Another fierce and fascinating show from School of Night, this time reaching into first century Britain and the female warrior who hurt the Roman Empire as few others ever did.... full review

Nothing like watching a Woman who has been massively wronged kill and behead all of her enemies! I had such a great time at this show. You know how 90 minute shows can feel suuuuuper long at Fringe? NOT THIS ONE. Loved it from top to bottom.... full review

Top-notch storytelling filled with great action, visuals, and performances. Christopher Johnson has crafted a wonderful script and directs a tight, fast-paced show. Jen Albert leads a committed group of actors as they tackle an ancient story filled with modern relevance with a great combination of sincerity and humor. An excellent example of how you can work within the constraints of Fringe and still put on a fully-realized, high concept production.... full review

A powerful example of history, when a brave, bold & lethal woman and her daughters took charge & fought evil in a "mans" ancient world. Inspiring, thrilling, suspenseful & tragic. Violently exciting.... full review

I'm very impressed! Timeless stories that we live out even today, good writing, solid performances by all the cast (and technical crew!). Super imaginative depictions and settings. 10:10 would recommend!... full review

Come for the sword fighting, stay for the drama. In the title role, award-winning fight choreographer Jen Albert leads a versatile and nimble cast through battles within her family, within their tribe, and against Roman legions in first-century AD Britain. The tight script by Christopher William Johnson, who also directed, rockets through the 90 minute story without pausing for breath. The stakes are made clear early on, deals are cut with Gods and men, and then on to battle! ... full review
