Just a great show compellingly told in a way that evokes the whole spectrum of emotion including sadness, surprise, and laughter. A very entertaining evening of theater. Bill is a wonderful storyteller. ... full review

Living next door to a voice-over artist, I'd heard tales of the craziness of this portion of the industry. But nothing I'd heard from my neighbor prepared me for the incredibleness of this performance. Bill Ratner has been involved in the industry for most of his life, coming from a home where his dad was an ad executive for General Mills and helped personify the image of Betty Crocker for the world. Ratner has a way of bringing those images in his head into perfect focus so that the audience can literally read his mind. The performance covers the gamut of emotions, from neglect, jealousy, greed, loss, joy and contentment. The musical score of Vince White adds the perfect undertone to the magical words of Ratner. I laughed an... full review

From kindergartner entranced with disembodied voices on TV and radio in postwar Minneapolis, to voice-over stardom and family man in Los Angeles, Bill Ratner's life keeps bursting the confines of the ordinary. His compelling story weaves together the Sublime, the Ridiculous, and the genuinely Tragic. His riff on Primal Scream Therapy alone is worth the price of admission. GO!... full review

It's wonderfully funny and frank. Real tragedy and real laughter -- but perfectly balanced to show the thin boundary between the two...and how Bill has personally walked that line with his own personal brand of quirkiness and humanity.... full review

As a veteran of 4 one woman shows and a director of countless of 'em, I figure I know what separates the women and men from the boys and girls. One person shows are not for sissies. They lay it all bare: your promise and your past, your persona and your soul. It is immediately evident that Bill Ratner is not interested in hiding anything. He's baring it all, good and bad, sad and sweet and funny. That milky and buoyant voice has you floating on a Ray Bradburian cloud of nostalgia, then plummets you to the depths of sorrow as a series of devastating losses is chronicled ever so gently and casually in Ratner's autobiographical tale. You can see the guy's humility and humor, his benevolent disposition and his tremendous skill at somethin... full review

This is a great narrative from a sophisticated... child-heart. In the edgy, cynical, jaded world of Hollywood's film or news promo voice-over Ratner's early life and childhood dreams are still with him. With delicious nostalgia and perfect emotional recall... in an ingratiating "once-upon-a-time" tone, he conveys the touching episodes of his development as a young person and an artist. Very satisfying... instructive... surprising... moving! don't miss it. ... full review

Run! See this show! Bill is a wonderful story teller...and a master of timing. It's funny, touching, moving, revealing, real, AND...it's just 55 minutes! It will leave you wanting more. He plays himself and many characters that you will love. Saw it last night. You'll be happy you did too. It's quite a happening over there for the Fringe Festival. Very fun and bustling with energy. Don't miss this show and the excitement of Fringe. I laughed, I cried, good theatah! And....Go! Sheryl B... full review

I could listen to Bill talk all night long...not only because of the timbre of his voice, but also because of the wonderful crafting of his stories. The StorySlam set could learn alot from the master, who himself is a multiple Moth performer and who has taken the time to shape his stories so that they will resonate with the audience long after the performance is over. For the last five years I've been watching Bill Ratner weave his tales across the LA storytelling scene and this show is not to be missed. Ratner's an exceptional storyteller and his voice alone is worth the price of admission. ... full review
