At Matt Martin‘s insistence, I witnessed a powerful hour of solo shows featuring Adam Meredith in Drowning (written by Leilani Squire) and Blaine Vedros in Black & Blue (written by Ron Fromstein. This was powerful theater about the effect hope has in keeping us from making bad decisions. Both shows were skillfully directed by Martin, and gave us plenty of food for thought. Because of my own personal experiences with the military and domestic violence, these stories left a lasting impression on me.... full review

This is acting at its purest form. I went in not knowing much about what this show was about and ended up being blown away by the performances of the two actors, Adam Meredith and Blaine Vedros. This is a very simple show by design and it lets the actors literally live with audience for 30 minutes at a time. It's two, one act plays where each actor gets the stage to themself and they both deliver. My favorite thing about the Fringe Festival is seeing shows big and small and being surprised and excited by both. Director Matthew Martin was smart to not add too much to this and take away from the performance of the actors and the strong writing. ... full review

It was a great night of theatre. Martin Matthew has done a terrific job producing and directing both one-act plays. Actors Adam Meredith is great and so is Blaine Vedros. Red, White, Black & Blue is worth experiencing because the work is authentic and speaks to the times. I wrote the one-act play Drowning and I loved sitting in the audience watching the character I created unfold before me. When I heard Adam Meredith speak the first words of dialogue, I knew he understood this character, and I wasn’t disappointed. I watched an actor discover the character as the play progressed. This is exciting theatre when the audience gets to go on the journey with the character. ... full review

I was so glad that I saw this. A wonderfully written piece beautifully told by both actors. Blaine Vedros blew me away with his portrayal of this seeming-jerk. His performance had such honest vulnerability that I couldn't help but feel for him, even though he did a TERRIBLE thing. ... full review
