Christine has created a hilarious yet sincere and heartfelt experience that I was engaged in the entire way through. Her comedic skills are on full display in this piece as well as her clear passion for this show. The experience watching this taps into something of a universal experience of mother-daughter relationships. I’d recommend it to anyone who has a mother!...

What a great evening at the theatre! Christine Covode's coming-of-age play takes us along on a terrific ride. Covode’s work focuses on the arc of her life (thus far) and her relationship with her mom at various stops along the way. We first meet the playwright as a young pup, comfortably cocooned within the friendly confines of her home. That all changes as she wades into the murkier waters of middle and high school and concludes with the hard-earned lessons she has learned through college.
Covode’s writing is crisp and hits the mark. She provides insights into her life that we can all relate to and brings into focus many of the traits that make us human - the good ones (love, laughter, hope, friendship) and the not-so-good ones (ang...

Hilariously funny and so heartwarming! As Christine takes the audience through her teenage years, one can’t help but reminisce on their own life, and laugh (or cry) when the show hits particularly close to home. It’s a beautiful and impressive show with a collection of stories from the heart. ...

I absolutely adored this show. Brilliantly natural, witty dialogue / effortless banter between characters / and flawless transition to a an achingly gorgeous sobering ending which was so real & raw and came out of nowhere because we had been laughing at antics so hard from the start. Wow, such amazing work!!! ...

Christine Covode’s brainchild “Dear Mom, Sorry for Being a Bitch” is a charming work comprised of outlandish anecdotes that are simultaneously hilarious, touching, and vulnerable. Covode traces her adolescence through animated tales of awkwardness and social reckonings during her middle school, high school and early college experiences. In addition to a series of crushes and quasi-boyfriends, each scene includes the presence of Covode’s mother, effectively portrayed by one of Covode’s comrades. We witness, with all too much familiarity, the process of Christine coming to understand her mom as a sentient person with thoughts and feelings of her own, and a person largely undeserving of years of her daughter’s developmental angst. Through consi...
