The character Hallie was fantastic! The other characters were interesting and for the most part each one had a very distinctive mark of characteristics. They really did feel like they knew one another and had been coming here for a while. This deeper look into what leads one to kill was intriguing and really made you dig deep and Hallie’s journey really guides you to that deeper level of understanding and empathy for humans and their pain.
What I didn't like
I didn’t understand why they weren’t looking at one another and I needed a more grounded and connected performance from the main character. Everything with him felt on the surface and ‘acted’ rather than really being driven by thought and emotion which caused me to not really be invested in him or his story which was a hard one to hear but didn’t move me the way I know it could have.
My overall impression
A dark but insightful look into the minds and hearts of serial killers in an AA type meeting yet it takes place at a bar. An hour that leaves you with a deeper look into forgiveness, compassion, empathy, and love for ones self and others and how the lack of those leads to the demise of humanity.
