The performances and the entire staging of the show were great and appealing in a very dark way.
What I didn't like
The show seems to be missing an ending. It felt like it was supposed to be one night in an ongoing world—and I really wanted the show to end with that theme being driven home.
Also, when trying to engage an audience, sometimes it helps to make it really clear to them when they can/cannot interact. Unless that uncomfortable “can we do this?” feeling is what you’re looking for.
My overall impression
Dark, disturbing and not for everyone, Red Bar was most definitely my cup of tea. A treatise and a glimpse into a world where serial killers get acceptance and praise, love and affection because after all—everyone deserves it, right?
