The most engaging part of the show is when Alfred is front and center delivering wonderful jokes that receive genuine laughs. The comedy does not feel forced and it generates honest compassion towards a character that is made out of steel. The back and forth between Alfred and Hedelle was fun and engaging – both of the actors who play the parts work well together, and the chemistry between Hedelle and Lamar was top-notch too.
What I didn't like
I think that there could have been a tighter narrative that revolves around The Humanoid more, because when we get to Lamar and Hedelle we start to lose track of Alfred who I thought was the most interesting character.
My overall impression
The Humanoid Experience is a short but delightful story of a humanoid servant waking up in the not-so-far future. Hedelle, the humanoid’s owner, uses it for almost everything which creates an unhealthy dependence on Alfred (the humanoid’s name) that comes to light when he decides to explore the streets for himself. Full of humor and great one-liners, this is a show that I believe would surprise most people.
