This is one of the best pieces of theater I've seen in recent years. Doug Harvey somehow completes the feat of masterfully telling an ambitious story of space, time, love, and the end by single handedly keeping the audience on the edge of their seat. Peering into his creative mind and sharing in his tale reminds me why I love theater - it's a moment of connection you just can't fully explain. Through Jake Elitzer's empathetic and meticulous direction, this show takes you on a wild ride through the cosmos to explore connection and the foundations of the universe. It left me deep in thought and is an experience I shall not soon forget.... full review

The tenderness Doug Harvey portrays as a man flung into space is magnificent. A Time Traveler's Guide to the Present is a beautifully crafted piece of theatre that never sacrifices emotion for the scifi genre it so excellently represents.... full review

One of the most delightfully intellectual shows I've ever seen! It had break-neck pacing from start to finish and there was never a lapse in focus. Harvey is an acting force to be reckoned with, tackling a myriad of different characters in endless scenarios with ease and childlike freedom. ... full review

A TIME TRAVELER'S GUIDE TO THE PRESENT is a powerful example of how such a big idea, in the proper storyteller's hands, can feel deeply personal. This hands down has to be one of my favorite time-travel stories of all time, perhaps besting Back to The Future or Looper. Harvey's writing and acting is top notch, and with Elitzer's sharp direction, their work leaves you on the edge of your seat the entire time. ... full review

A tour-de-force, albeit brief, exploration of what can drive one's psyche, told within a loose framework of Science Fiction, but that's only the impulse to launch into a story of how one man's past influences his present, and possibly his future. Full of deep insights and humor, drama and whimsy. And all done by one performer. If you like your fiction done as a short story, concise, dense, but not overwhelming, then come on a wonderful trip !... full review

Doug Harvey takes you on a trip through time and space but never leaves you behind. Part science, part comedy, but at the root of it all is heart. The love we have for others, the emotional struggle of memories, and the need to survive help make this piece so much more. One of the best solo pieces you'll see at Fringe this year.... full review

This is one of the most inventive and exceptional solo shows I've seen at Fringe, regardless of year. The story is compelling, and Harvey's mastery of body language and voice allows him to play at least a dozen different roles, and he masterfully complements his story with his guitar loops without losing the attention of the audience in any one of his shifts. This is one of the most compelling shows I've seen this year, and you need to be RUNNING to the next performance of this show. There should not be an empty seat in his house.... full review

I love traveling and everything related to it. My last trip was to El Salvador to visit my friends. They invited me and promised to arrange a cool trip around the country, and it happened. We rented a car on Rental24h and went on a road trip. It was my first experience of such a trip, but definitely not the last, because it's a special atmosphere when you drive and look out the window at incredible landscapes, chat with friends along the way and make stops in any location... full review
