Pocketmon! A Parody Musical

The thing that bothers me the most about the parody musical craze, is that more often than not, the musicals are not parodies. They are blatant rip-offs of intellectual property, and people act like just because it's a musical - that makes it a parody. I hate it. It's unfair to the creators, and it's unfair to those playing by the rules. This is why I have to offer my sincerest congratulations to the writers and producers of Pocketmon for actually being a real parody musical. I commend you all for playing by the rules, and for showing the other so-called parody musicals how it should be done. For that reason alone, you have a made a fan out of me. ... full review

Pocketmon was the best example I've ever seen of people working within severe restraints to make something truly magical. At all times, the cast and crew skirted the line of absurdity for absurdity's sake, but they stayed grounded, and the result is something hysterical, endearing, and ruthlessly original.... full review

This show goes pokeballs to the walls in every way imaginable. Never slowing down and offering plenty of jokes for the uninitiated as well as die hard fans. It's a truly joyous musical that will leave you with a smile on your face and a pep in your step. Just fun all around!... full review

A fun and entertaining ride the whole time! I had a blast. It is a great time for anyone who loves (or even for people who know anything about) Pokemon. It is a great trip down memory lane for the characters we grew up loving but in this newly imagined world that is exactly what you want from a parody musical. The singing was great, the choreography was so much fun, and the actors made each and every character engaging and enjoyable. The script, its story, and its characters are so funny- I was brought to tears from laughing at times! You will enjoy this show. ... full review

This is a fun show that has a lot of inside references, dirty jokes, clever lyrics and real emotional moments. I know absolutely nothing about Pokemon and due to the wonderful writing, direction, choreography, light design and cast, I started laughing the moment the lights came up and kept laughing throughout the rest of the show.... full review

So fun and so entertaining. I didn’t know what to expect going in and I was pleasantly aurprised. I think you guys should take this to other places once Fringe is over because it would be a shame if more people didn’t see it. My husband and I both really enjoyed this show!! I certainly didn't know what to expect, not being a Pokémon follower back in the day, but the story, acting and singing were all a true delight. I would love to see this show expand into other theaters where more folks, young and old alike, can enjoy what can be so well accomplished without expensive stage props and costumes.... full review

I am both a pokemon fan and a pocketmon fan! I was so impressed with these original songs and the singing was fantastic. Also the stage design was so cute and well-thought out as well as the costumes. Seriously so fun and again fantastic singing! This is a perfect fringe show: it's just so much fun. ... full review
