Having seen Mil Grus perform shorter sets around Los Angeles, it was wonderful to see what they did with a full stage and an hour to themselves. I was engaged the whole time and was delighted at how everything flowed and how one piece led into another. As a Troupe, they seemed very comfortable with each other and that comfort came through as confidence and sensitivity to the audience and the energy that was in the room. So glad they made it to Fringe!!...

What a gem of a show! So playful, so funny. Great ensemble chemistry -- I'm a big fan of the minimalistic dynamic in which the cast conveys so much together while saying so little. Also loved how each performer was basically operating at 2 clown/meta character "levels" -- the clown they're supposed to be playing, and the clown performer. So glad I got to catch this....

What a great show! It’s everything you could hope for when attending something called a “fringe” festival. Weird and wonderful, at times it approaches a level of ridiculousness that forces the viewer to ask themselves “what am I looking at? What the hell is this about? Why can’t I stop laughing? Is this for real? Why can’t I look away?”
The idiot characters in the show provoke, ridicule and delight us all at once, their grotesque figures clad in deep primary colors, their black smiles beg for our love, their eyes hope for our death. They need us, but hate us. And we cannot help but give them whatever they want.
Through a series of increasingly bizarre and seemingly meaningless but insanely entertaining vignettes, the cast of Mil Grus take...
