Exciting, daring work from a group of young auteurs. It’s great to see people taking risks and doing theatrey theatre instead of settling for the safe known quantity. Definitely “weird” if you’re looking for old fashioned realism, etc, but I personally loved this abstract exploration of authority and resistance.... full review

So many shows at the Fringe are exactly the same. Parodies of popular culture. Start Swimming is unlike anything else out there. It is experimental without being pretentious. It asks the questions of where do we fit in the world. Fiallos does this with such creativity and humor. You can't guess what is going to happen next. The whole experience was bold and brave. ... full review

This was a sharp and polished production by a young group of artists with a perspective and raw energy. I'd be interested in seeing how this company continues to evolve, and what other productions they present in the future.... full review

It is true what they say... age is just a number. This entire cast, including the director and producer, is under twenty-five years of age, but the work I saw on that stage looked like it came from a fifty year old theatre vet. See this show. It is thought provoking, the costumes are beautiful, and the direction is like nothing I have seen before. On top of all that, you get wonderful acting from the entire cast. Show these talented individuals the support they deserve.... full review

Provocative, stirring, and not here to play nice, Start Swimming looks into the audiences faces and asks them the most uncomfortable of questions: What are you doing here? Prepare to question your way of life, your decisions, the institutions that ground you and the very idea of "you" in this world of fake rules and made up boundaries. ... full review
