Fantastic. It's always heartening to see a drama at the Fringe which really nails it - and boy, this nails it. Great writing, great direction, and the performances of Blaire Chandler and Alli Miller are outstanding. They each have such ease on stage, inhabiting the characters like a second skin, and playing off one another (and the great Krista Conti) beautifully with zipping dialogue. With an important and powerful theme, and THE DUCHESS AND THE STRIPPER is one of the best shows at the Fringe this year.... full review

Loved this play! It's wonderfully written and performed. There's no wasted time in this play; it gets to the story right away and lets you enjoy the performances from the three wonderful actresses. It's got comedy mixed with really touching character moments and authentic emotionality. Definitely one to go see!... full review

The show is brilliantly written by David Bosley and directed by Fringe veteran and mentor (as well as a truly talented actor in his own right) Ezra Buzzington. The cast was likewise perfectly set with AEA actress Blaire Chandler in the role of Wallis Simpson, Cherry Poppins queen Alli Miller as Blaze Starr and Krista Conti as Starr’s sister and assistant June Fleming. ... full review

This show is a total treat. Theater exactly how I like it: no frills, no unnecessary spectacle, just great writing and great acting. You see this show for the sharp banter and character-revealing, and especially the acting. Blaire Chandler is stunningly good. What a gem. She evokes emotion and moments with a touch of her pearl necklace, or a posture, or a flick of the eyes. Honestly, I could watch her read aloud from a dictionary. And Wallis Simpson's royal (she wishes) demeanor is perfectly matched and contrasted by Alli Miller's no bullshit no putting on airs stripper Blaze Starr. Miss Miller is fearlessly confident as she struts, changes wardrobe, and fires zingers at her stranger friend. These two women hail from different universes but ... full review
