How can one couple's journey, riddled with so much pain, complexity, and Mount Everest-type challenge, be handled with such grace, joy, love, openness, and beauty? Mimi and Mara will steal your hearts, break them, then return them to you more full and whole than you could have imagined. Even if their story is not your story, this play is both magic and medicine. Oh, and they are adorably hilarious, too!... full review

A compelling story of two very courageous people. A thought provoking piece that grabbed me from the moment Mimi and Mara appeared on stage till the curtain call which seemed far too soon. I wanted more. It is rare when a play transcends theatre and becomes an Event while entertaining and educating. This is one of those pieces. A play that should not be missed.... full review

Heart felt, honest, and endearing. Mimi and Mara make one of the most complex issues of our time very relatable by distilling it down for us so we can see their story through the lens of love, humor, and some really good harmonica.... full review

A true-to-life story of a true love between two souls--no matter their physical manifestation. I was entranced with this story. More spoken word, or creative nonfiction memoir than a play, these two women take you deeply inside their lives and their beautiful and supportive love. I left the theatre thinking LOVE IS LOVE--and isn't it always a miracle. I am SO happy I saw this!... full review

My Trans Wife will immerse you in a kind of love story many of us will not experience and one that is far too rarely portrayed on stage and screen. But it is about something we all understand- love. May well all find someone to look at and be looked at by, the way Mimi and Marla look at each other.... full review

I thoroughly enjoyed this show. I thought it was funny and sweet and told a story that is not heard enough. I think it was courageous and inspiring for Mara and Mimi to chose to tell their story in such a public way, and I appreciated that a lot. ... full review
