Trexler was totally in control. I loved how much fun she was having, embodying each character with nuance, while holding a strong relationship with the audience. The music was lovely and varied, and she has a beautiful voice.
What I didn't like
The show is structured like a concept album, with Trexler flowing seamlessly between each. She hews closely to Shalespeare, and I especially liked the moments where here original lyrics provided clarity or context. I would have liked to see more of that, and perhaps a sense of relationship between the women, or else a narrative of how this woman changes.
My overall impression
Totally delightful! If you’re a fan of Shakespeare, you’ll love hearing lines sprinkled through the original lyrics. Honey-voiced Laura Joe Trexler embodies each of the heroines in a game and charming performance. Very easy watching!
