I love watching a talented artist with excellent intuition, skills, and dedication to their art. Luckily, you get three of those in one show. From scene to scene, over and over, the audience is gifted beautiful imagery, surprises, and strong performances at every moment. This is a true character study piece about someone who has a very twisted definition of the word love. This contemporary appropriation of classically conflicted characters brings new context when discussing the manipulative nature of humans. Tremendous acting and an entertaining reflection on a familiar tale. I've never been let down by this group-- last year's Quantum Entanglement was my fav of the Fringe-- so I went into this show knowing essentially nothing of what to expect, and was delighted. Each character felt so real, so complex, so relatable, which really made this investigation of the old story feel very alive and engaging. The show is rife with charm, love and a palpable sense of tension throughout. I absolutely loved Katelyn's Hamlet, so flawed, so manipulative, so emo! I can not recommend this modern Shakespeare re-telling enough. It’s funny, it’s self-aware, it’s innovative and shockingly real. Less Hamlet and more like someone chewing up a soliloquy and spitting it at you. It is a playground built upon the minds of Kelley Pierre, Payden Ackerman, and the breathtaking Katelyn Schiller, who returns to Fringe after last year’s stunning Quantum Entanglement to once again warp traditional theatre into a more-perfect shape. Really engaging work by all three involved not only onstage but as the writing team behind the show. Chemistry onstage can sometimes be tricky but these three nailed it. The dialogue was sharp and funny and dangerous in places. Definitely recommended!... full review

CAVEAT: I’m a friend and collaborator with this group and am reviewing as such, not in an official capacity with Gia On The Move. One of my favorite shows from last year's Fringe was QUANTUM ENTANGLEMENT by Lucid Dramatics. It was thought-provoking, heady, but with desperately real emotions and performances. Lucid Dramatics brings a new show to the same room for HFF18 and while its story is wildly different, the quality is just as high, just as personal, and even more dramatic. It's modern-day HAMLET. Wow. What a great show. The way Lucid Dramatics took these well-known characters, put them in a modernized world, and told this story about them was really captivating. This show really makes you feel things and invest yourself in this story and its characters. It even has moments where will relate to the relationships that you see onstage. You will find yourself having trouble keeping in your audible reactions due to the fantastic delivery of this story and these relationships by the actors. ... full review
