Was impressed with the high quality of music and dancing in Swept Away, and how it told the story of a struggling writer with a dream, and the woman who goads him and torments his writing at every turn, but in the end, can't help but fall in love with him. Wonderful original music and vocals by Katherine King. ... full review

I thoroughly enjoyed the music and story. It had emotional depth but light hearted at times with a feminine touch the dudes can like to.... full review

I loved it! Very cinematic, which I don't know if it's a good thing to say of a play, but for me it was. The play starts with a surprisingly good and catchy song and throughout the play we're regaled with songs that serve as background to the male's main character journey as a writer. It's very visual. Katherine King is just awesome and the director made a great job working with only one stage: with a few movements of the actors, we immediately know that we're somewhere else. Highly recommendable!... full review

I really enjoyed this little piece of musical theater. It had 3 distinct characters, all of whom I got to know and care about over the piece. The pacing was just right with a few minutes of story followed by a relevant piece of music. Acting, singing, and design of the set were all wonderful. Swept Away, is definitely a show worth seeing!... full review

SWEPT AWAY is an ingeniously contrived and staged mini-musical play, well directed by Bonnie Root. It's most noteworthy for the outstanding performance of Katherine King, who acts with great skill and conviction in a range of moods, and marvelously sings the fine lyrics of some very tuneful songs – which she wrote herself. She's extremely well backed up by the perfectly tuned guitar-playing of Vince White. Other players, Steven Juhl (who ran the tech) and Justin Baltz, provide good journeyman performances, and an actress deceived us all when she appeared as the second of two characters she played. See it!... full review

I loved the show! So worth the drive. It was colorful, intimate, and well written, with a twist in the plot. The main actress was amazing, and I loved the chemistry between the actors. It's a nice break from tv, to see actors performing live, just for you. Should do this more. ... full review
