What I liked

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the tiny dive bar they created for this piece. With just about three cast members, I was able to still feel the vibes of the bar and allow myself to believe in it.

I also really got to feel for each of the character’s story despite the piece being only an hour long. And speaking of an hour, I felt the piece was paced perfectly and didn’t feel rushed.

Lastly, I really enjoyed the music pieces written for this and they were performed beautifully by Katherine King!

What I didn't like

There wasn’t anything I didn’t like, about this piece, though if I had to knit-pick I’d say the way they kept re-using the prop drink cups was a little bit distracting.

But as I said it wasn’t an issue really and I didn’t actually dislike anything about the production.

My overall impression

I really enjoyed this little piece of musical theater. It had 3 distinct characters, all of whom I got to know and care about over the piece.

The pacing was just right with a few minutes of story followed by a relevant piece of music.

Acting, singing, and design of the set were all wonderful.

Swept Away, is definitely a show worth seeing!
