Watching this play is a transformative experience. The view through a micro lens provides the audience with a glimpse of the struggles of an Arab woman, as she goes from youth through adulthood. The viewers are taken on a journey and exposed to some of the ideologies and cultural norms placed on Arab women. Through a macro lens, the viewers are forced to take a deeper dive and realize that while this play focuses on the life of Joumana Haddad, we can all relate to the struggles of the character in one way or another. ... full review

CONFESSIONS OF AN ARAB WOMAN gives an amazing insight to women not just from the Middle East, but from countries all around the world. It reaches the human emotions of all genders. The intelligent and creative portraying of all of liefe's complexities deserves great credit.The actors, music and choreography were excellent and convincing, and drew the spectators totally into their play. A special bravo to the director Nagham Wehbe who artfully interwove the struggles of the Arab woman with occasional wit and humor. The dramatic short documentary was gripping one's emotions. This is a play everyone should see as they will take something home that left a lasting impression.... full review

I was deeply touched by the play. I was particularly moved by the different voices, and how this strong woman reminisces about different versions of herself through her life as she gradually finds her personal empowerment. I also appreciated the historical context that the documentary provided towards the end about the reality that women have endured and survived in the midst of war. The play felt personal and meaningful overall.... full review
