To me, Patriot Act is 'the big short' of politics in a small black box theater. The same passion, interesting approach, and a whole lot of wisdom is packed in. And whether you're knowledgeable about politics (or not) or heck, even if ur on your way to Canada, go see Patriot Act. Mike Schlitt is always worth it, and you might even leave being a better American! And if not that, at least you'll feel better!... full review

I really enjoyed Mike Schlitt’s Jesus Ride at Hollywood Fringe 2013. He returns to the stage this Fringe with Patriot Act in what can be described as a participatory seminar/lecture/Ted Talk-style/theatre experiment aimed at [re]igniting discussions around patriotism, civic duty and how to address what we perceive to be what ails America. This “show” is theatre meets interactive forum. As Mike said, it’s an experiment. And I think he meant not just his show, but in a l... full review

Mr Schlitt's advertising expertise served him well in prepping his Fringe advertising---it enticed me! The reality, though, was that his audience was primarily a few personal friends---and me---and after a timed monologue of 47-minutes he didn't DELIVER a solution, but SOLICITED one! His History lesson taught me a few things I didn't know, but did NOT include the word or the concept "Republic"! He's intermittently entertaining, but FAR from an objective observer, and seems to define 200 years of American history entirely in terms of Slavery! ... full review

PATRIOT ACT Less play than town hall meeting, writer and performer Mike Schlitt voices his concerns for the country and shares some of his appreciable knowledge of the nation’s history before bringing the audience on stage to discuss methods of preserving the republic. Granted, not theatre, but definitely theatrical and very definitely needed in this time of ours. For that: HONORARY MENTION-SILVER FOR MORE FRINGE REVIEWS CHECK OUT THE TVOLUTION.COM ... full review
