What an unexpected treat! I didn't really know what to expect and found myself lured in by the dark atmosphere of both pieces. Echoes of Pinter, and touches of Albee's ZOO STORY, yet at the same time very unique voices. I loved that edginess of not knowing where each piece will take us and will everyone be safe? 2 simple one acts brilliantly directed by David Robinson. He seems to put all his actors in the best possible situation to let them flourish. The staging is simple and perfect. Both of these short plays examine the idea of what is "truth" and is it always the most important thing. The first play did a great job of giving us just enough details to keep us invested while dangling a few mysteries out of reach so we were anxiously waiting to see what was really going on. Though one character was more aggressive than the other, they were evenly matched in their battle over who was right. The second play was bizarre in a really intriguing way, and I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. But there was no reveal that fully explained the situation. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I felt that the build up was implying that there would be, so I was left wanting more. (Still, that means I was engaged.) The... full review
