My first Fringe standing ovation – and so well deserved! This is my first Fringe, and my first time seeing Michael Earl Fisher on stage. And what a wonder to behold!! From the smallest rhyming whisper to U2 references he draws us in as he weaves a rompish retelling of Shakespeare’s life. The live music, simple set and exquisite costume set the stage for Fisher’s fabulous energy. I must admit, I’ve occasionally been swayed to the doubter’s camp. But Shakespeare’s Last Night Out has brought me firmly back into the welcoming arms of Shakespeare As Author. This is a piece I hope has a life as long as the Bard.
