The best part of this performance is how absolutely comfortable and relaxed Erin makes the audience feel. She's not "performing" a one-woman show for a bunch of strangers, she is telling amazingly vulnerable yet funny stories to a group of friends. She really made me feel like I was the only one there and I hung on her every word, laughing along with her, even in her painful moments. And don't get me started on her singing. She's beyond fantastic and balances the songs with the stories (and some great video) to truly give a well rounded show.... full review

Based on the title, I walked into the theater expecting the show to be about the vagaries of singing. And, while music plays a central role in Writer/Performer Erin Carere’s life, it is the totality of her life she is exploring in this one-woman odyssey. Erin Carere has such an ease with the audience, she makes you feel at home. I loved her use of props--passed out to the audience and then re-called with each anecdote, her Minnesota accent was charming and well-timed, and her singing, well, I felt like I was watching an angel (the giant feathered wings helped), a very funny angel who told fart jokes. Erin Carere is a rare combination of actress, singer and comedian all rolled into one. Her spot-on observations and irreverent humor set the tone for a show with hilarity and drama based on truth and poignancy that comes from her true-life story based on hardship and triumph which she shares with the audience. She truly carries the show with power and energy from beginning to end. The one-hour show goes by in what feels like 5 minutes. Erin bares her soul and life struggles in a witty, light-hearted manner. I think it takes a lot of courage to expose oneself like that but Erin did it with such grace and charisma. Unlike the one reviewer who thought her voice was overpowering, I couldn't get enough of it. Actually, that was my only disappointment - that she didn't sing enough. The word used for Greek theatre to describe an overwhelming sense of emotion is called catharsis. That is the experience of what we felt while watching Erin's opera. It was filled with every kind of emotion. Her show was a great journey leading into a fantastic ending with a slam-bang finish. If you do not know anything about opera and the people behind the business, go see this show. Erin is a delight- her story is a wonderful journey to experience.... full review
