What a fantastic tapestry Les and Marlene created to tell poignant, relevant and heart-felt stories! The performances were marvelous, and the stories were SO engaging! For me, the show ended on an especially resonant note about the power of point-of-view. Wonderful!... full review

I really enjoyed the interplay between Les and Marlene as they shared their separate stories that really complemented each other. Journeys of the soul. Les is an immediate, energetic and engaging performer and Marlene's storytelling is really riveting. It was funny, insightful and surprising. Definitely check it out!!... full review

I laughed, I gasped, I think I even purred at one point. What a wonderful cross country-road trip of stories, twists and unexpected realizations. There is a certain delicious contrast between Les Kurkendaal's frantic-go-lucky adventure and Marlene Nichols' sultry, poetic memoir. It was fun just watchin these two, in turn, fill the stage in such an intimate venue. as the Elephant Studio in Hollywood. The heart of this piece is honest and genuine. Les gives us an earnest account of his road trip release from the malaise that sent him driving out of Los Angeles. It paired surprisingly well with Marlene's smooth and poignant delivery of a young woman's search for her self in Paris, New York, Memphis and Los Angeles. In the end, it is... full review

I had some idea of the show going in but was delighted by the contrasts in actors, and the seamless way the story unfolded. It was very amusing to watch a dred locked black man's frantic adventures as he drove across the red states to a gig, with Marlene Nichols serving as his NPR radio entertainment enroute. The frantic, earthy, realistic story telling of actual adventures on the road mixed in with a very poetic description of a womens issues growing up with love and lust and life as she travelled across the world was very entertaining. You never got bored as the two actors kept switching it up. But the real beauty of the play was that deep in it there were excellent lessons to be learned on prejudices, fears, assumptions way out... full review

So far one of the better shows of the Hollywood Fringe 2015 that I have seen,,, Marlene and Les tell the most fabulous stories and are so in tune with one another! Creatively written and performed I wanted to see and hear more of their stories! And I loved all of Malrlene's dresss! Definitely a must see! ... full review

An enthralling show... it held the audience in rapt attention for the entire ride. Les and Marlene seamlessly weave two storytelling voices, alternating between a transcontinental road trip, replete with reminiscence and adventure, and a summoning of vivid characters and loved ones, across different geographies, in a young woman's life. Both Marlene and Les are masterful storytellers with amazing command of their instruments and voice. I enjoyed the breaks and rhythms of what held the richness of a setlist, each vignette a singular transmission of love lost, shared, and gained. Not to be missed!... full review
