I had some idea of the show going in but was delighted by the contrasts in actors, and the seamless way the story unfolded. It was very amusing to watch a dred locked black man's frantic adventures as he drove across the red states to a gig, with Marlene Nichols serving as his NPR radio entertainment enroute.
The frantic, earthy, realistic story telling of actual adventures on the road mixed in with a very poetic description of a womens issues growing up with love and lust and life as she travelled across the world was very entertaining. You never got bored as the two actors kept switching it up.
But the real beauty of the play was that deep in it there were excellent lessons to be learned on prejudices, fears, assumptions way out...

So far one of the better shows of the Hollywood Fringe 2015 that I have seen,,,
Marlene and Les tell the most fabulous stories and are so in tune with one another!
Creatively written and performed I wanted to see and hear more of their stories! And I loved all of Malrlene's dresss!
Definitely a must see! ...

An enthralling show... it held the audience in rapt attention for the entire ride. Les and Marlene seamlessly weave two storytelling voices, alternating between a transcontinental road trip, replete with reminiscence and adventure, and a summoning of vivid characters and loved ones, across different geographies, in a young woman's life. Both Marlene and Les are masterful storytellers with amazing command of their instruments and voice. I enjoyed the breaks and rhythms of what held the richness of a setlist, each vignette a singular transmission of love lost, shared, and gained. Not to be missed!...

We loved this show. So well written, and performed. The two stories from both actors Les and Marlene complemented each other as did the performance and style. The time flew by so fast. I felt like I went on both of their journeys with them. Really glad we made it to this! ...

charming les... along with performance arty and dialect queen marlena... together on stage, but... separate! An easily digestible show with unique perspectives, travels, adventures, heart, and an artful way to share all the miles and terrain one can cover in life... on stage! all in all, if u ever find yourself hitchhiking, u'd be in safe hands if picked up by Les or Marlena! Or let's just say... you will be entertained. Safety is relative!...
