Leigh Curran is examining her life - the universal "life" in this one woman show. Resonates, entertains and opens the door for the audience to look at themselves too! Jule Selbo... full review

I came, I saw, she conquered. It's no small feat to hold an audience's attention for 90 minutes, but wonderful writing and brilliant acting can make that happen. This show was especially relevant to me because we are both baby boomers who decided not to have children and had to deal with the ramifications of that choice. I applaud her artistic bravery, particularly at this time in our nation's history when women's rights to reproductive choice are being severely challenged. I highly recommend this show. Let Leigh take you through the Looking Glass. You'll be delighted with what you find on the other side. ... full review

One of the bravest pieces of theatre art I have encountered and mesmerizingly personal. I felt so connected to the creator/writer/actor, to the person up there whose life was being laid out for us to analysis as she honestly assesses her greatest failures and ultimately her greatest strength. It was a poignant and affecting 95 minutes that inspired me to attempt to get deeper in touch with my own life's story, to acknowledge the "writing" I haven't done, which is to say the paths I so far have chosen to avoid taking, and to pay tribute to the ones I have. I loved this play because it so beautifully informed me of yet another level of the magic that can be conjured by the art of theatre.... full review

This is a very brave, inventive, artistic rendering of Leigh Curran's fascinating life in New York City and Los Angeles. Conversing with two other main characters of her own invention that she confesses to, pleads with, mocks, and loves, Leigh opens herself up to an unusual inventory of life's highlights, challenges, disappointments.... full review

Powerhouse of a show. It starts off as a cool, interesting predicament of a writer, and slowly builds to an emotional waterfall, that carries you along with it. ... full review

in my opinion, this was one of the best written pieces in the fringe. it flowed. it made sense. it was easy to follow. and leigh was lovely. she shared and didn't hold back and we were with her every step of the beautiful way. it's 90 minutes, which frankly, scared the bajeesus out of me, and not many people can hold an audiences attention for that long (much less one person), but Leigh did it so adeptly and effortlessly, you will experience many moments of timelessness. And if you work with kids like i do (and yes, I too, devoted many hours to Leigh's creation—the virginia avenue project)— it's extra special to see the 'boss' knock it out of the PARK!... full review

"Why Water Falls" is an engaging, dramatic, and thought provoking piece of theatre. One person plays are challenging for audiences, and Leigh Curran pulls it off here with tremendous grace and intensity. She blurs the lines between her personal moments and those of her fictional characters, creating a glimpse into the unique life of a veteran actor, writer, educator and community activist. At close to 90 minutes without intermission, "Why Water Falls" is a treat for theatre lovers seeking an original experience from a contemporary authentic voice.... full review

Such a brave piece that every woman of every age can identify with. While I would have liked more character work in her flashbacks, the three distinct parts of Curran are entertaining & distinct and carry the show nicely. ... full review
