Having recently seen a production of LITTLE WOMEN The Musical, I was very familiar with the story but was totally surprised and laughed repeatedly at this very fast-paced hysterically modern take on the story by Beth Dies, Inc. Each of the women are perfectly cast and take their characters seriously and firmly tongue in cheek at the same time Be prepared to laugh at the scenes go by at an astonishing pace! Poor Beth (Rachel Lin) takes the brunt of abuse for her coughing, carrying it to the point of a rap as she lays in bed dying. And bubblehead blonde Amy (Lydian Blossom) has such fun with her Valley Girl persona as she suffers from postpartum depression after giving birth to twine, confiding to the audience that there has to be mo... full review

So far this is my Fringe fave. I have a love/hate relationship with the hit HBO series Girls, but this mashup of Lena Dunham with Louisa May Alcott’s classic, Little Women is nothing but love/love. Chiara Atik’s spot on play takes the main events from the novel and uses the rapid, self-indulgent language from Girls, creating true comedic brilliance. In fact, it’s so perfect that I’m surprised someone hasn’t put the two together sooner. Stephanie Ward’s stealth direction keeps the show at a break-neck pace, ensuring that the momentum never stops as scenes jump from one moment to the next. Although this is definitely well oiled ensemble, the four March sisters Jo (Layla Khoshnoudi), Meg (Abby Rosebrock), Beth (Rachel Lin), and Amy (Lydia... full review

Billed as a mash-up of Louisa May Alcott's Little Women and HBO's Girls, Women is a farcical and hilarious romp through a classic piece of literature, much like A Knight's Tale did with Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. Check out the rest of the review at Examiner.com.... full review

The hands-down laughs-per-minute champ at this year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival may well be Women (aka Women The Show), Chiara Atik’s NYC-bred mashup of Louisa Mae Alcott’s Little Women and Lena Dunham’s Girls, and you don’t have to know a thing about the HBO hit to have a Fringetastic time with Jo, Meg, Beth, Amy and their entourage. Yes, fans of Dunham’s 21st Century big girls will likely recognize Marmie’s brood as (respectively) Hannah, Marnie, Shoshanna, and Jessa—or so I’m told—but all you really need to know is that the second Marmie has left the room, the March girls start gabbing in contemporary big-city-girl vernacular (sis Amy’s delivered with Jessa’s crisp British vowels, never mind why) despite period garb and references to t... full review
