I am Nahui Olin is a deeply sensual portrayal of a woman bursting at the seams with passion and creative energy who was too large for the patriarchal society and repressive time in which she was born. Virginia Novello gives a masterful performance and completely embodies the character with sensuality, vulnerability and power. ...

Writer/director Jessica Silvetti keeps the script tight and the storytelling focused, no small feat for a solo show about a life this big.
Virginia Novello pulls you in immediately and doesn't let go. What could have felt like a history lesson becomes something much more immersive, like getting lost in a good book you can't put down. She brought Nahui Olin to life with so much passion and radiance that I went straight home to learn more about the Latina artist's life and work.
This one deserves a longer life beyond Fringe. Hope it finds one....

A very engaging performance by Virginia. One of my favorite things about Fringe is discovering stories I knew absolutely nothing about before walking into the theater.

Virginia introduces audiences to the life of Mexican artist, poet, and intellectual Nahui Olin with passion, conviction, and an obvious admiration for her. What could have felt like a history lesson instead becomes a personal story about a woman determined to live life on her own terms and Virginia presented that beautifully. ...

I loved learning about this character in Mexican history. The actress truly embodied Nahui Olin. The writer/director did a great job of telling the story that spanned many decades and heartbreak. ...
